Barcelona beat Slavia Prague 4-2 at Fortuna Arena on Wednesday 21 January in the Champions League league phase. But it wasn't pretty. Vasil Kusej found the back of the net just nine minutes in to give the hosts an early lead, sending Barcelona into scramble mode on a frigid Czech night.
Enter Fermín López. Barcelona found their rhythm later in the half, as Fermin Lopez sparked a stunning seven-minute turnaround with a clinical brace to put the visitors ahead. Just when Barça looked to be cruising, things got weird: Robert Lewandowski inadvertently conceded an own goal following a Slavia corner, sending the teams into halftime deadlocked at 2-2. A gritty but crucial performance for Barcelona.
Barcelona took control after the break. Dani Olmo scores to put Barcelona ahead, and Robert Lewandowski sealed the deal later with another goal to make it 4-2. With this result, Hansi Flick's side moves into the direct qualification zone and can seal a spot in the Round of 16 in the final league phase match against Copenhagen. It's exactly the kind of grind-it-out win Barcelona needed heading into the final stretch of the Champions League League Phase.
