Mist BC topped Phantom 80-74 in the championship game Wednesday night to cap the league's second season. Breanna Stewart scored 32 points and was named the MVP of the game, delivering a dominant performance when it mattered most. The final play was anticlimactic, with Stewart winning the game on a free throw, but the rest of the game did not lack in drama.
Kelsey Plum set an Unrivaled record for most points in a playoff game, scoring 40. Despite her historic effort, Plum and Phantom came up short in what turned out to be a thrilling battle between the league's top two regular-season teams. Phantom led early in the opening quarter, 21-14, but Mist responded and evened the score at 24 after one quarter of play. For most of the first half, Mist maintained a narrow lead, responding each time Phantom evened the game. In the third quarter, Mist pulled away and entered the final period ahead, 68-62.
The championship win is particularly sweet for the two teams who failed to make the 2025 playoffs: Phantom BC and Mist BC. This year, both teams completely flipped the script, with Mist defeating Phantom and becoming the queens of Unrivaled. Every player on the Mist will earn a $100,000 prize, up from the $50,000 that every player on Rose BC earned for winning the title last season.
