The Mizzou men's basketball team dropped a road SEC contest on Tuesday night, falling at Oklahoma, 80-64. It was a rough night for the Tigers, who came in hot but couldn't find their rhythm in Norman. Senior Mark Mitchell led the Tigers with 17 points, while adding three assists. Juniors Anthony Robinson II and Trent Pierce also scored in double figures, adding 14 and 11 points, respectively.
The Sooners also got hot on the offensive end and scored on eight-straight possessions to stretch the lead to double digits, 30-18, before Mizzou pulled within nine at the break, 35-26. Things didn't improve much after halftime. Oklahoma made 62.2 percent of its attempts, including 70.0 percent in the second half. The Sooners also connected on 12-of-22 from 3-point range (54.5 percent), while turning 16 Mizzou turnovers into 25 points.
The Tigers are now 20-10 on the year and 10-7 in league play, while the Sooners win their fifth in their last seven games to improve to 16-14 overall and 6-11 against SEC schools. This loss hurts after Mizzou had been playing some of its best basketball recently. Mizzou closes out the regular season with a home contest against Arkansas on Senior Day. Tipoff at Mizzou Arena is scheduled for 11 a.m. on ESPN.
